Opening day 2016, 6:45 am I'm just pulling into the spot where I'm starting my day. Down near the tree line is a big o' buck staring at me. Typically my Grampa is with me hunting; however this year has been hard on him, unable to hunt with me, I went out on my own. There is this buck looking at me, I count his horns 1,2,3 bang! He runs about 100 yards and falls. Me, all excited I forgot everything I was taught. I looked around couldn't see any blood, no hair and called my Dad for help. A few minutes later Dad shows up with some help... once I was able to function from all the excitement I noticed that I was surrounded by blood...and my deer less than a 100 yards from me.
7 points later and 142 pounds later (my first buck)
This one is for you Papa!
